The Senate passed the RoK Law “Concerning ratification of the  treaty between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation on  neighborly and allied relationship in XXI century”, “Zakon.kz” IA informs

“Kazakhstan is considering Russia as a key political and economic partner in Eurasia. Development of multi-aspect partnership with Russia meets long-term strategic interests of Kazakhstan”, – informed Yerlan Idrisov, Minister of Foreign Affairs at the meeting of the Senate of the RoK Parliament.

According to him, the Treaty is one of the fundamental documents that set out the basic principles of cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.

“This document aims to develop bilateral political dialogue on pressing international issues in order to promote peace, stability and security in the region. The Treaty also defines a further vector of development of bilateral trade and economic relations, formation of transport corridors, regional utilization of water resources and ecology, interaction in military and military-technical spheres, as well as in cultural and humanitarian cooperation” – Head of RoK MFA added.

Furthermore, the bill contains clauses that provide for the development of mutual relations on the basis of the existing agreements, which serves as a confirmation of concerted actions to strengthen and develop already existing relationship between the two states.

Ratification of the Treaty will contribute to effective legal, political, social and economic cooperation between the two countries, and will bring the bilateral Kazakhstan-Russian cooperation to a new level.
