In Kazakhstan a new model of consumer protection is developing. This was announced today at a briefing in central Communications Service of the President of RK , Chairman of the Agency for the Protection of Consumer Rights, Bolatbek Kuandikov informed , ИА “Zakon.kz” reports. 

“We have developed a new model of consumer protection, because the Law “On Protection of Consumer Rights” do not provide for clear mechanisms for consumer redress. Agency began to develop the concept and the draft law “On Protection of Consumer Rights” in the new edition, based on the best international practices, “Bolatbek Kuandikov said.

He also noted that the new law is clearly established procedure for protecting the rights of consumers when selling goods and services. In particular, it is expected to detail the procedure for return, change, deleting deficiencies, liability of sellers and persons responsible, meeting deadlines, consequences.

“In addition, the new law will provide for detailed powers of government authorities to ensure the protection of consumer rights,” Bolatbek Kuandikov said.
