He said that since February 1, 2014, migrant workers can officially work in Kazakhstan for individuals. The Law applies to citizens of countries with which Kazakhstan has agreements on visa-free entry and duration of stay of at least three months. This category includes citizens of CIS countries.

” Permits under the simplified procedure will be issued to foreigners only to work for individuals for their personal needs – repair or construction of private houses, providing services of babysitters, gardeners, cooks and other domestic workers. This procedure does not apply to entrepreneurs and cannot be used to earn income. One citizen may hire not more than five labor immigrants to work in his household – Erketay Tutkushev said.

Foreign nationals will be able to work up to one year. To do this, they need to obtain permits in the territorial departments of the migration police, which will be issued from 1 February.

Meanwhile, 52 foreigners were deported from NKO territory for illegal labor activity in 2013.
