With a view to boosting smartphone sales, HTC is going to stake on budgetary devices in the near future . Jack Tong, the President of HTC North Asia, recently told about the company’s plans for 2015. In this region, the company will produce low cost devices with the support of 4G communication standard.  It is expected that HTC Desire 820 model will be released in January, with a few more low-end models to follow in the first quarter of 2015.

In 2014, HTC successfully used the strategy of network sales of its devices and intends to develop it further, especially with regard to low-cost smartphones. This year, 10% of HTC smartphone global sales were made through Internet which was the best result for the company over the years.

HTC is not the only manufacturer to bet on a budget smartphone segment. Microsoft is not going to produce any flagship devices in the next six months, not to mention other upcoming Asian producers who were initially oriented towards cheap devices.

At this moment it is unknown whether HTC is going to release cheap smartphones on Windows Phone. This year the company introduced its HTC One M8 flagship device on the Microsoft platform, the next flagship HTC Hima is also scheduled to be released on both systems.
