Past Sunday AppleFest was held in Almaty, which was attended by a variety of companies, not including horticulture. One of the participants of the fest was a provider of fourth generation wireless internet – ALTEL 4G. In the park of the first RoK president the staff arranged a tent and blankets spread around, where everyone could test the free internet. At a distance of 15 meters from the tent, anyone was able to connect to Wi-Fi and use the Internet. The first half of the day was not rainy, so visitors could sit on the fest plaid and participate in competitions, which were organized by members of ALTEL.
In most tents one set up booths with Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablets, by means of which everyone could measure the speed of the Internet or to access any site. Mi-Fi- routers also worked and distributed Internet through Wi-Fi.
ALTEL JSC is the first Kazakhstani mobile operator in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The company has been working in the telecommunications market since 1994. Since 2006 ALTEL JSC has been included into Kazakhtelecom JSC, a group of companies. ALTEL has traditionally been an early adopter of new technologies in Kazakhstan. In 2010 ALTEL was the first company in the country which introduced 3G Internet. In December 2012 ALTEL JSC became the first operator of the fourth-generation LTE network.
