The company believes that a significant proportion of the future growth of the mobile market will account for the transmission of data. Kcell intends to continue investing activities in the Kazakh economy by introducing new technology. This was announced by Ian Eric Rudberg, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kcell JSC in the ASTEX 2013 international exhibition of informational communicative technologies.
Kcell has been operating for 15 years in Kazakhstan and is considered to be a leading provider of mobile telecommunications services in the country. Currently, mobile operator is ready to launch the fourth-generation LTE communication in the RoK. Kcell is already ready to launch the 4GLTE technology here in Kazakhstan, in order to contribute to the development of local infrastructure and economy. As noted by Mr. Ian Eric Rudberg, the number of mobile Internet users in Kazakhstan increased 20% last year. the Monthly bandwidth consumption has increased 100% this year, compared to the last year, while the number of smartphones (based on Android, iOS, WindowsMobile) increased three-fold. According to the estimation of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kcell, the telecommunications market in the country today is quite competitive and has all the prerequisites for further development.
“We believe that competition will increase. In April 2013, mobile penetration exceeded 170% due to the fact that many subscribers in Kazakhstan have two or more SIM cards. This trend is growing. The telecommunications market of Kazakhstan is growing year by year”, – the chairman of the Board of Directors of Kcell announced his forecast.
It is worth noting that, TeliaSonera, a telecommunications company formed in 2002 based on the merger of Sweden’s Telia and Finnish Sonera. TeliaSonera’s revenue turnover amounted to about $ 15 billion last year. The fifth largest operator in Europe employs 28,000 people worldwide.
According to the company’s information, as of the current date, Kcell JSC has paid more than $ 2 billion to the budget of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the form of taxes and other payments.
In addition, Mr. Ian Eric Rudberg noted that the successful listing of securities of the cellular company at the Kazakhstan and London stock exchange, as well as the growth of Kcell stocks, which is about 50% is an important contribution to the development of the stock market of our country.
