In Astana, under the VI Astana Economic Forum, ASTEX-2013 International Conference – Exhibition took place. The event was organized by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the National ICT Holding “Zerde” and the ICT Development Fund. The conference was attended by Mr. Bakytzhan Sagintayev, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He noted the significant achievements of Kazakhstan in the field of information and communication technologies in the development of “e-government”. In 2012, for example, our country took 2nd place in its index of “e-participation”, 38th place in the ranking of the United Nations, the 43rd line of the world rankings on the Network Readiness Index and 49th – in terms of ICT development . Also last year the level of tariffs for cellular Kazakhstan among 144 countries added 25 items.
Mr. Askar Zhumagaliev, the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Arman Kyrykbaev, the vice-minister of culture and information, Mr. Kanysh Tleushin, the Vice-Minister of Industry and New Technologies and Mr. Saken Sarsenov, the vice Minister of Transport and Communications gave a speech under four sessions of ASTEX: Smart Government, Smart Industry, Smart Business, Smart Life.
At the conference, experts discussed the Smart Government, «e-government”, and “mobile government”. And Open Government – a concept that today is booming in the world. According to their discussion, one creates such a platform where all information is available, and any third party is able to create services on the basis of this data.
In total, the conference was attended by 40 speakers – the heads of foreign companies, large investors, professors, players of the world internet business from the U.S., Canada, Russia, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, South Korea, and countries belonging to the Council on Interaction and Confidence Measures in Asia. The exhibition was presented to 28 companies.
Guests and participants of the ASTEX-2013 exhibition – conference noted the relevance and timeliness of the event and offered to hold it every year. Questions and agenda of exhibitions – conferences in 2014 were proposed to be developed and discussed on the G-Global dialogue platform. Based on the results of the first ASTEX-2013 International Exhibition and Conference, the participant signed a resolution compiled by international experts on measures of cooperation in the framework of the development of the IT-sector in Kazakhstan.
