Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (ACU) has granted permission to Kazkommertsbank (Almaty, Kazakhstan) to acquire control over BTA Bank (Almaty, Kazakhstan), as informed by the correspondent of BNews.kz.
Under international antitrust legislation, committees of the States are discussion transactions of companies whose assets are in the country.
BTA Bank PJSC was registered on December 1, 1992 and is the successor of Ukrainian Credit and Commercial Bank. According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of January 1, 2014, BTA Bank was ranked 26th in terms of equity and 33rd on assets among all banks in the country. In Ukraine there are nine branches of BTA BANK PJSC in Kiev, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, and Lvov.
Kazkommertsbank is the largest bank in Kazakhstan. The bank’s assets as at September 30, 2013 amounted to 2, 635, 100, 000, 000 tenge. According to the regulator of Kazakh financial services market , as at June 1, 2011, it takes the first place in terms of assets, loan portfolio and equity and the second (after the People’s Bank) – in terms of total deposits. Kazkommertsbank has subsidiaries in the Russian Federation, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
