According to information presented by Nurlan Kapparov, the need to create such an institution in Kazakhstan is indisputable. It will allow us to understand the long-term prospects for energy development, to minimize risks and ensure country’s energy security.  Trend.az. informed.

“One of the projects is to create  the Institute  on the basis of the Center for Energy Studies operation under supervision of   Nazarbayev University having finished material and technical base, laboratories, personnel structure, and established mechanism to attract world-renowned scientists,” the Minister said.

He has offered two possible scenarios to determine the specialization of the Institute. “The first one involves search for fundamentally new forms of energy – based on fusion and so on. The second one involves study of issues of development of already known renewable energy sources like wind and solar, and new forms of energy, as well as issues related to further improvement of existing technologies, generation, storage and transportation of energy “Mr. Kapparov listed.

According to him, to develop a certain action plan for the organization, financing, and determining the structure of the institute one will create an interdepartmental working group involving representatives of interested organizations.
