Within the framework of development of the mineral raw material base one has planned to implement funding of 160 billion Tenge before the year 2020. This was reported by Asset Issekeshev, the Ministry of industry and new technologies at the meeting with the participation of S. Akhmetov, the prime-minister, as informed by the web site of the RoK prime-minister. 

To perform the instruction of the head of the government, a package of reforms in geological sector has been considered in the government which is shown in the elaborated concept of geology development before 2030 and in a program of development of the mineral and raw material base before 2020. This program provides for funding of 160 billion Tenge”, A. Issekeshev said. 

He noted that for the period of 2000-2013, the total volume of investment has comprised more than 8 billion Tenge contributed to the mining sector. Among them 234 billion Tenge will be spent for the geological survey.   

He said that in the Zheskazgan region, one is conduction geological survey and research work at the square of more than 100 thousand sq. kilometers, using the method of geochemical survey. 14 structures have been studied. Its funding will comprise 1billion tenge. 

He also noted that Kazakhmys Company will transfer more than 25 billion Tenge to perform geological survey works in the territory of Zheskazgan, Satpayev and Ulytau region. 

Besides, he said that geological works will be started at the Baykonur site before the end of the current year.  

He also noted that in connection with cancellation of moratorium “tenders on 105 objects of subsurface use will be held”. MINT has signed a memorandum on training personnel with leading high schools in the sphere of geology. One has suggested increasing a number of grants in high schools on geological profession on the “Bolashak” program. 

“Creation of the Center on Geological Survey” was discussed with the Nazarbayev University. The center will include a laboratory base to create a school on preparation of specialists in the sphere of geology”, he added.  

Besides, the work with RioTinto and Kores as well as Australian and Japanese companies and investors from Germany and Canada has been started.
