Astana. October 23. – Korea has transferred the right to host a global forum of e-government in 2014, as Kazakhstan Today news agency reports.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Security and Public Administration of the Republic of Korea at the Global Forum of e-government – 2013 agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of e-government, the press service of the Transport and Communications Ministry reports.

“According to the signed letter of intent , the cooperation between the two countries involves the exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of government, e – organizing joint seminars and round tables, explore new opportunities for collaboration and close cooperation in the conduct of the Global Forum on e-government”, one informed in the department

According to the UN resolution in connection with the rapid development of e-Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and as a result of high performance of the country in the international rankings on ICT, the Global forum of e-government   -in 2014 will be held in Astana in October of the next year with the participation of international experts in the field of information and communication technologies and the development of e-government. Global e-Government Forum was initiated by the United Nations in connection with the emergence of new global trends in the development of e-government (smart government) and first held in 2012 in Seoul.

This year, it is also held in Korea and is aligned with the 7th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Government (ICEGOV) with the support of the United Nations.

Representatives of government, business and international organizations – more than 1,000 participants from 40 countries came together in the South Korean capital to discuss the role of e-government and trends that the new information age dictates.  The main theme – “Smart government and society: openness, sharing, communication and collaboration.”
