Astana. October 11. One has demonstrated the toll road Astana – Shchuchinsk to the members of Parliament of Kazakhstan, News Agency Kazakhstan Today reports.

Demonstrating the work of system of toll collection and payment terminals, Chairman of the Board of JSC NC KazAvtoZhol,  Erik Sultanov said that for local transport on the toll road Astana – Shchuchinsk one has introduced the benefits for payment of travel.

“Appropriate amendments to the Decree of the Government of the RK “On the use of the road section Astana – Shchuchinsk of the road of republican importance ​​Astana – Petropavlovsk on a paid basis” were introduced  ​​ on 1 October this year.

As a benefit for local transport one has introduced a fee for passage of motor vehicles registered in the five areas of Akmola oblast ( Shortandy, Akkol , Bulandinskiy , Enbekshildinskiy and Burabay ). The annual subscription fee is 1000 Tenge.

It is noted that in Kazakhstan one set the lowest fee for the passage. This is due to the fact that in the calculation of the tariff one took into account only the cost of annual maintenance and repair of highways, and not the money spent on its construction.

By the way, the amount of charges for the use of toll roads to date amounted to 334 million Tenge. From the beginning of the year, one performed at the site the works on current repair and maintenance in the amount of 895.6 million Tenge, including the repair of the pavement, clearing the road surface from snow, repair and replacement of road signs and barrier fencing, lighting and telecommunication services, patrol, cutting the grass and garbage collection in the neighborhood, as well as repair and maintenance of playgrounds.

Within the framework of the preparatory works for the winter operation of the “Astana- Shchuchinsk” motorway,  one plans to  ensure, before the end of November of the current year, construction of  10.1 km  of concrete fencing, 48 % of which has  already been constructed. Also on most sites one will construct snow shields and road maintenance areas will be equipped with additional special equipment.

We would like to remind that with the introduction of charges for the Astana – Shchuchinsk  road, given the high quality features of the roadway, the load capacity per axle for trucks was increased up to 11.5 tons. It enables carriers to increase the volume of cargo without presentation of any additional charges and penalties.

Currently, the intensity of the movement of transport vehicles on the Astana – Shchuchinsk road is 5,500 to 7,000 cars, trucks and buses per day.
