In 2014, work will be initiated for the destruction of hazardous waste transferred by court order in the republican ownership, www.zakon.kz reports. In the first phase the work will begin in Kostanay, Karaganda and Aktobe regions. This was announced today during the governmental hour in the Majilis by Mr. Kapparov, the head of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, IA Zakon.kz reports.

According to information of Minister of Ministry of Environment, in 2014 it is planned to develop a program of industrial waste management, which will include audits of accumulated industrial waste, creation of infrastructure and processing facilities for industrial waste.

He also said that to solve the current problems of waste accumulation, companies introduced a new tool of regulation. “All businesses are required to submit their waste management plan, which should include the measures to decrease the formation and increase the recovery and recycling of waste. Points of the program are included in the conditions of a special nature use, the performance of which is a requirement for obtaining a permit for emissions into the environment. In turn, the failure to fulfill obligations entails administrative measures up to the cancellation of the permit, fines and compensation for damages,” Mr. Kapparov said.

In order to control and eliminate waste created,  Zhasyl Damy JSC was established vwith 100 % participation of  the government in the authorized capital.
