The Government plans to finish construction of mini – cities in 2031, Business Portal Kapital.kz reports.

The project with the name “Construction of the satellite cities in Almaty” includes four mini – city united in one city – conglomerate, with an area of more than eight thousand hectares. The city will be a home for three hundred thousand people. One will create complete infrastructure, with an extensive system of economic zone. Such a large-scale project requires the support of large electrical substations. 

To date, “Alageum Electric”, a Kazakh electromechanical company has completed the construction and installation of substation equipment “Kokpa” and “Koyankus” for the future cities. The presentation of the first of power facilities took place at the Almaty energy engineering  plant belonging to the company.

During the period from 2009 to 2012, one allocated and spent 14.8 billion from the national budget and in 2013 – 5.4 billion for the development of engineering infrastructure of the cities of Almaty. The construction of mini- polises began with the construction of engineering infrastructure.

“We have completed the construction of electric power supply facilities for satellite cities. Namely – the construction of the “Kokpa” substation, two cable lines of 110 kilowatts of “Koyankus” substation to the “Kokpa” substation, and  reconstruction “Koyankus” substation”, Khayrulla Kozhabaev, the general manager of the plant said at the presentation.

It should be noted that the plant has developed a unique project for the state as to date – 27.5 kilowatt indoor switchgear working as “Sortirovochnaya” substation in Kostanai.

“This is the first substation of this type in Kazakhstan. Our plant is the only enterprise in the country, which has fulfilled such a complex project. In addition to Almaty energy engineering plant, only one institute in the CIS – research institute in St. Petersburg can also manufacture such substations. 

The Customer of the substation is Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, a ​​national company. Russian colleagues were very surprised by the fact that our plant has mastered a difficult production”, said Khayrulla Kozhabaev.

Kazakh plant cooperates with Russian not only on the part of scientific research, but also exports to that country a large part of its production. With such countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan, the plant cooperates under the mutually beneficial trade relations. “ In general, exports of our products in 2012 increased by 30% compared to 2011”, Mr. Kozhabaev said.
