Negotiation process on Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO will be completed only if the interests of the countries of the World Trade Organization will satisfy not only the position of Kazakhstan, but also the functioning under WTO Customs Union, TV channel Astana.

CEO of the Center for Trade Policy, Ruslan Sultanov said in the interview that “conceptual things will be addressed in the near future”, and the government will complete negotiations on WTO accession.

Ruslan Sultanov, Director General of Center for Trade Policy JSC:

We can say that we do not join WTO only because of the Russian Federation. Of course, it is supported by comments of Russian experts. But one needs to understand that if the WTO members states have said us, “Well, we are waiting for you!”, We would have already entered. Everything here depends on aggregate. It is the interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is not going to refuse from questions and interests. There are also obligations under the CU and interests of WTO members. If they have one point of view, the negotiation process will be completed.
